While attempting to craft a thoughtfully-worded statement, I decided that my time would be better spent writing private thoughtfully-worded messages to the people in my life who don’t espouse the values of racial justice that they preach.

As a white ally, often the most responsible thing to do is let the voices of your black and brown neighbors rise above your own. There are quiet ways to help.
Support black people.
Support brown people.
Address white hegemony when you see it.
